Woolwich Tournament Champions
The Source for Sports Bantam Rep team led by head coach John Ralf, breezed through the Woolwich Wildcat's Tournament with eaze, and came out champions. Little did the team know that their toughest game of the tournament, would be their first one, played Friday night vs the hometown Woolwich Wildcats. It was an action packed, back and forth hockey game, where the teams finished with a respectable 4 - 4 tie at the end of 3 periods. (1.Jesse Dunn from Nehemiah Dube, Grayden Sinden 2. Matt Meharg from Andrew Kersten, Nicholas Lanthier 3. Brendan Soares from Grayden Sinden 4. Matt Meharg from Thomas Edmonds, Grayden Sinden). It was smooth sailing for the Source for Sports crew for the remainder of the tournament. On Saturday, the boys swept Huntsville with a score of 3 - 0 (1. Sinden from Soares, Edmonds 2. Alex Sutherland from Josh Verschueren, Dunn 3. Soares from Jarrod Winters, Lanthier), and MildMay with a score of 2 - 0 (1. Dube from Sinden 2. Soares from Edmonds), rewarding both of Sources goalies, Alessandro Palermo and Tyler Hildebrant, who showed amazing effort in net, earning shut-out victories during the tournament. Sunday brought the team to the semi's, where they faced Huntsville once again, and came out victorious 6 - 2 (1. Dunn 2. Soares from Edmonds, Sinden 3. Verschueren from Lanthier, Spencer McDowell 4. Sinden from McDowell 5. Sinden from Dunn 6. Sinden). The boys, determined to keep their winning streak going, took to the ice in the championship final vs MildMay, winning the Woolwich Wildcats Tournament with a score of 2 - 0 (1. Dunn from Sinden 2. Sutherland from Dunn, Lanthier). Well done Boys!
