AE's Turn Tough Road Loss Into Strong Finish At President's Cup
Following a tough road loss to the Tavistock Titans last week, our Peewee AE team regrouped and returned to action in the Thanksgiving day President's Cup Tournament in Erin, ON.
Solid effort by the entire Tillsonburg team provided convincing wins over a competitive Bruce Peninsula team as well as the hometown favorite Erin/Hillsburgh Devils. The best match-up of the day, by far, featured our Tillsonburg Tornado team verses a high powered squad from Halton Hills. An extremely "gutsy" performance by our AE's kept the swarming Halton Hills club at bay through 2 1/2 periods. The opponents however continued to press and would eventually finish the game better on the score sheet.
It was clear, the spectators had been treated to a fast and competitive showdown between two very inspired and deserving hockey clubs.
With the loss to Halton Hills, our team earned a respectable "Runner Up" honor for this one day event, scoring a total of 16 goals and allowing just 6 through 3 games!
