When The Going Gets Tough: Keeping The Fun In Rep Hockey

.....as long as they keep winning hockey games and scoring goals, kids are satisfied. Unfortunately, many teams don’t have this luxury—every time a team wins, another goes home with a loss. And in hockey this often means that only half of the players had fun. It’s important for coaches to disconnect the idea of success from wins and losses. "Your challenge is to make sure that in a year where you have zero wins and a whole bunch of losses that they’re still enjoying playing the game and want to come back to do it again. That should be the baseline for how you measure success,”
