U9 Girls - Distinct, 2023-2024, Girls (Tillsonburg Minor Hockey Inc.)

This past weekend, the Distinct U9C Lightning participated in their first full-ice tournament finishing in fourth place out of six teams. 

The Tillsonburg U9 Lightning had a back and forth battle with the St. Thomas Panthers at Joe Thornton Arena this afternoon.  The girls demonstrated some improved defensive play and showed a spirited response after getting behind on the score moments into the game.  We were fortunate to be given a tour of the St. Thomas Jr. B Stars dressing room after the game.  Thank you to Coach Brad for the connections!  It was a great experience.  

The U9 Tillsonburg Lightning had a busy day of hockey.  In their opening game, the team faced a formidable opponent in the Huron Heat.  Sarah McCutchen tended the goal and kept the score to a respectable margin earning player of the game nods.  The team followed up a tough opening game with a fantastic effort against the tournament hosts Central Perth Predators.  Nevaeh Mathews took home player of the game with her great all around play.  The team ended the day with a convincing effort against the South Huron Thunder.  Brenna Ferguson was award player of the game by the opposing team.  The ...
