O.M.H.A. Sanctioned – Southern Counties Affiliated

All games will be played under O.M.H.A Rules and Regulations and T.M.H.I. Rules and Regulations listed below.

  1. No Select teams shall be allowed to participate in the Tournament.  Teams shall consist of regular House League teams.  At the time teams register for the tournament at the Tournament office, they shall produce O.M.H.A. House League base cards and approved house league rosters, listing the same players on the team as appears on the tournament team roster.  These certificates and rosters will be left at the office while playing.
  2. Only O.M.H.A. affiliated centers shall participate.
  3. Prior to commencement of each game there will be a warm-up period not to exceed 3 minutes.
  4. All teams are to meet in the arena one hour prior to game time and shall be dressed to go on the ice one-half hour prior to the scheduled starting time of the game.  If it is possible for a game to commence earlier than it is scheduled, the teams may commence the game earlier.
  5. Lateness:  Inability to ice a team on time will mean automatic forfeiture of the game and all points.  If due to inclement weather the tournament committee will attempt to reschedule that game, failing this, the team will have to forfeit the game and all points.
  6. If at anytime in the last 5 minutes of the third period the score spread is 5 or more goals, the time will switch to straight time.  It will revert to stop time if the spread is reduced to 4 goals.
  7. Any team found to have illegal players will be eliminated from any further play in the tournament.
  8. All teams must have a certified coach and trainer on the bench for all games.
  9. All teams will shake hands prior to each game.
  10. All games will consist of three ten minute stop time periods, with the exception of a 5 or more goal spread in the last five minutes of the third period.
  11. Resurfacing (flooding and or scraping) will be done at the end of every other game.
  12. Ties will be broken.  There will be a five-minute sudden death overtime period, followed by, if still tied, a three-man shootout.  Before the game, each team must designate, on the game sheet, the 3 players to take part in the shootout, if necessary.
  13. All teams will be guaranteed two games.
  14. If a player is called on “intent to injure” than he/she will be suspended for the remainder of the tournament.  All rulings by Tournament Convener are final.
  15. If the referee determines that the colors of the team’s sweaters conflict, then the home team shall be required to change its sweaters and shall wear sweaters provided by the tournament committee.
  16. There will be no buzzer for the line changes.  Changes to be made at the coach’s discretion. 
  17. Coaches will not be allowed on the ice with the team during the game.
  18. Teams may dress a goalie or substitute players at the coach’s discretion.
  19. Teams must remain in the arena for award presentations.
  20. Remember:  Please send in official OMHA rosters to the Covenor of the tournament.
