Win streak stopped at 3 in close one, News, Atom AE, U11 Atom, 2012-2013 (Tillsonburg Minor Hockey Inc.)

The Tornadoes headed up to Tavistock Saturday afternoon for the first game of the season against the Titans.

It was a fast paced, close game that could have gone either way with both teams having good chances.

Tavistock got out to a 1 goal lead near the half way mark of the first period and were able to hold off a determined Tillsonburg side until a power play goal at 9:46 of the 3rd.
 
Tillsonburg had 6 power play opportunities including a short 5 on 3 advantage in the game and were only able to get the one goal. The coaches agree that this is an area for the team to work on.

The boys showed alot of grit and effort all over the ice and worked to regain loose pucks and showed alot of strong checking at both ends of the ice keeping shots against to a minimum. The coaches were needing to remind alot of the team to remember their positions and stay spread out across the rink.

The bench staff were very happy with passing and vision of the team on several occasions and the play of (G) Kyle Neplic was solid once again.

The Golden jersey went to Liam Clarkson for his goal and solid play at the blue line.
