IP Announcement - Start Dates & Information
IP Families,

Exciting news!! As you may have seen, ice time is now scheduled for all 4 IP Divisions starting this coming Monday, November 2nd .  As a standard, please ensure you watch the calendar on the website as changes do occur.  Please attend the ice times associated to your child's division (if you are unsure which division your child is in, utilize the year of birth listed beside each division. Example - 2016's are in the U5 division).

  • U5 - Beginners (2016 DOB): Wednesday @ 5:00pm & Saturday @ 8:30am
  • U6 - Junior IP (2015 DOB): Monday @ 5:00pm & Saturday @ 2:00pm
  • U7 -  Senior IP (2014 DOB): Tuesday @ 5:00pm & Saturday @ 3:30pm
  • U8 - Minor Novice (2013 DOB): Monday @ 6:00pm & Saturday @ 12:30pm

To help make this a positive experience for your child, please ensure that your child is aware that you (Mom/Dad) will not be coming downstairs with them. Parents are only permitted upstairs per the town protocol unless you are a coach or on-ice helper. Prepare your child for what to expect, and that they will see you in the stands once they are on the ice.

Our volunteers will be taking the children downstairs to prepare for the ice and tying skates for any player that is not able to walk with guards on. If your child is able to walk with skate guards on, please do have them come with their skates on and tied. This will greatly help us get the kids on the ice faster. The current rules from the town do not allow us to enter the arena until 15 minutes before the ice time starts leaving limited time for coaches and ice helpers to tie skates in time. Please label your guards and sticks as many children will not remember which is theirs when they got off the ice.  All other equipment must be on. Below is a list of what equipment is required by OMHA and Hockey Canada in order for your child to be insured:

  1. Helmet - proper fitting please do not buy with room to grow their heads are very important to protect
  2. Neck guard
  3. Elbow Pads
  4. Shoulder Pads
  5. Jock for boys or a Jill for girls
  6. Pants
  7. Shin Pads
  8. Skates - again not too big as sloppy feet do not allow for proper learning
  9. Stick - Stick should stand to their nose without skates on and to their chin with skates on - a stick that is too large for your child is not safe.
  10. Gloves
  11. MOUTH GUARD **** very important as the child will not be allowed on the ice without one.  Please get the child used to the mouth guard early at home and please trim it to fit the child's mouth.

**Jersey's and socks will be distributed at a later date - please have a practice jersey and socks for your child.

In order to ensure compliance with screening protocols and access to the arena it is imperative that your child is at the arena, screened and ready to enter the arena 15 minutes before your scheduled ice time.  This means your child must be ready to enter the arena 15 minutes before the scheduled ice time, the recommendation is to arrive 30 minutes before the ice time so you have sufficient time to have your child dressed and screening completed.

Any players or parents arriving after the team has entered the arena will be
denied entry into the arena. Any parent/guardian, coach, instructor or participant who is rude, defiant or abusive to any Town Staff will be asked to leave the facility in accordance with the RZone Policy.

All participants, Parents & Guardians are to enter and exit the facility via the East Entrance only. In the event of an emergency, please use the closest exit.

  • Coaches are to meet all participants at the East Entrance - participants will not be permitted in the facility until their coach is present and the screening process has been completed. The team will enter the arena 15 minutes before their scheduled ice time.
  • Only 1 parent/guardian per participant will be permitted in the facility. No additional siblings are permitted to enter with the parent. Parents must be present at the time the team enters or will not be permitted entry to the arena. There is no in and out privileges. If you leave the arena for any reason, you will not be permitted back inside.
  • Parents/Guardians are to be screened along with their participant prior to entering the facility.
  • Coaches are to sign off on the screening sheet and hand it to the marshal at the door.
  • Parents/Guardians are to proceed to the appropriate arena. Entrance to Memorial Arena through the door at the top of the stairs. Entrance to Community Arena down the hall and into the cold viewing arena. Parent/guardian are to remain on the upper level of the facility in their designated area
  • All warm viewing is off limits - please remind parents/guardians to dress warm
  • All participants will use either the stairs or elevator to access the lower level.
  • Parents/Guardians will meet their participant at the East Entrance after their ice time.

Mask Protocol

  • All spectators are required to wear a mask the entire time they are inside the building
  • On Ice Volunteers and Players are required to wear a mask until their helmet (and mouth guard are fully secured). Any players that remove their helmet after the ice time must have a mask to put on until they exit the building.

You are required to follow these procedures.

Thank you in advance,

Have a great season.
