Shots and Rebounds = Goals!
Tillsonburg Atom AE got back in the Win column with a 3-1 victory over Caledonia Thursday night at the Caledonia Arena.
This team is becoming known for being a scrappy, hard working team and they brought that effort for all 3 periods against a quick Caledonia squad.
The coaches have been teaching the boys to hold their positions and how to clear their own end and the boys showed continued improvement in those areas.
The biggest change was clearly in the amount of shots on net which the coaches had (unofficially) counted as 30 and the forward group digging hard for rebounds. The team combined to keep the shots against to 6!
The forwards were aggressive in checking deep and winning the pucks back, although the coaches saw room for improvement in chasing down the loose pucks in the corners.
The defence crew were again strong with their pinching to help the keep the the puck in the opposition end and made several strong plays in front of G Kyle Loucks, who played a rock solid game in his first of the season. The D contributed 5 shots but the coaches think they are able to get more.
Evan Moore earned the Golden Jersey for his breakaway stopping backcheck late in the 3rd!
All in all a great TEAM win!
