Big wins in home and home with Norwich
The Tornadoes moved to 2 games above .500 (4-2-0) in a successful home and home series with the Norwich Nighthawks.

At home Sunday, The Tornadoes took an early lead and never looked back as they scored often on their way to a 10-0 victory.

The rematch Tuesday in Norwich saw a more prepared Norwich team press the boys in the first taking an early 1-0 lead.

The 10 goals in the Sunday home opener came from 7 different players as they all were trying to put one in.  There was a tonne of effort from all the kids although the coaches occasionally felt the need for a goal came ahead of smart hockey and team work.

The team played well in the first, fell asleep in the second and got their heads back in the game for a strong finish.

The Golden Jersey was awarded to Joel Gardham for his all around play at both ends of the rink.

(G) Kyle Nesplic threw his first (of hopefully many) shutouts on the season.

The re-match on Tuesday had a much different beginning to the game as Norwich came out ready and jumped out to an early 1-0 lead. Tillsonburg clawed their way back in to lead 2-1 at the end of the first.

The boys listened to the coaches and began to implement the game plan of passing, staying wide, communicating on ice and supporting each other, and sure enough smart hockey prevailed as the floodgates opened for 9 more goals.

The Golden jersey went to Tristan McClay for his 2 goals and improvement in passing and defensive responsibility.

The game puck went to Jaeger Rusnak who had a big 2 goal performance but shined in filling in for pinching defence and hard checking.
